Ghanaian songstress Wendy Shay has praised Shatta Wale for what she describes as a rare and selfless gesture in the music industry.
In an X post, she revealed that the Ghanaian dancehall artiste willingly gave away all his mechanical rights for their joint tracks Stevie Wonder and H.I.T. to her record label, Rufftown Records.
“I witnessed something yesterday and I still cannot believe it. @shattawalegh gave all his Mechanical Rights on my songs Stevie Wonder and H.I.T. to Rufftown Records,” Wendy Shay wrote. “I don’t know how many people can show such kindness in this industry. A king for a reason. More blessings King. #SM4LIFE.”
Her remarks quickly drew widespread attention, with fans applauding Shatta Wale’s act as proof of his commitment to supporting fellow artistes and lifting the industry as a whole.
Wendy Shay and Shatta Wale first collaborated on Stevie Wonder in 2019, followed by H.I.T. in 2020, both of which became fan favorites.
