Ghanaian music producer Fred Kyei Mensah, popularly known as Fredyma, claims he was visited in a dream by the spirit of the late Highlife icon Daddy Lumba, who tasked him with warning a media personality accused of damaging his reputation.
During a discussion on Onua ShowTime, Fredyma said the vivid dream showed Lumba standing in front of his recording studio, dressed completely in white.
“Lumba appeared in my dream one day. He was standing in front of my studio, dressed in all white. He mentioned someone’s name and said that person was in the media tarnishing his image over a certain issue. He told me to go and warn the person to stop,” Fredyma disclosed.
According to Fredyma, Lumba identified the individual responsible for spreading false reports about his passport issue, which he believes misrepresented the late singer’s story.
The veteran producer also voiced his disappointment over how some people have handled matters following Lumba’s death. He said social media users have chosen to circulate controversy and misinformation instead of celebrating the musician’s lasting impact on Ghanaian music.
Daddy Lumba passed away on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra. His burial, initially scheduled for December 6, 2025, has been postponed.
After a meeting at the Otumfuo Saamanhene Palace on November 10, 2025, the Manhyia Palace confirmed that the final funeral rites will now be held on December 13, 2025. A new funeral committee led by Dadiesoabahene was established to oversee the arrangements.
Meanwhile, Lumba’s elder sister, Ernestina Fosu, has requested a postmortem examination, citing suspicions of possible foul play. She urged that the funeral be delayed until the results reveal the true cause of her brother’s death.
