Shatta Wale has publicly expressed frustration with members of his inner circle, accusing them of failing to contribute to the growth and sustainability of the Shatta Movement while relying heavily on him for financial support.
The outspoken dancehall musician, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, made the remarks during a TikTok Live session that was later shared on August 3, 2026. His comments come in the wake of the controversy surrounding his ShattaFest concert in the United Kingdom.
Speaking candidly during the livestream, Shatta Wale said he carries the financial burden of keeping his movement alive because those around him do little to generate opportunities or revenue.
“They are all fools. I am the only person managing the entire Shatta Movement, and no one gives me money. No one in my crew can say they bring in money. They are always there, and I am the one who goes out to look for money to support them and keep the team going.
“When I send them to the house of a billionaire, they can’t even bring me money. Even the fans create opportunities for me, yet the people closest to me can’t do anything to help me,” he said.
His criticism was not limited to his team. The musician also singled out his public relations manager, Sammy Flex, questioning the direction of his podcast.
Shatta Wale argued that the show gives excessive attention to fellow musician Stonebwoy instead of focusing on promoting his own career and brand.
“Recently, I was talking to Sammy Flex. I told him to stop talking about Stonebwoy on the podcast every single day. He still thinks we are in the radio era. He doesn’t understand the podcast he is doing,” the ‘Freedom’ composer stated.
