Malik Basintale reaches out to Shatta Wale: “Let’s partner to make Shaxi Ghanaian-owned big”

Malik Basintale and Shatta Wale

Malik Basintale, CEO of Ghana’s Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has signaled his readiness to collaborate with Shatta Wale on Shaxi, the musician’s youth-driven ride-hailing platform.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Basintale publicly extended an invitation to the dancehall icon, emphasizing a vision to scale Shaxi into a leading, fully Ghanaian-owned enterprise.

He wrote: “Dear @shattawalegh, As CEO of YEA, my mind dey!!! Let’s partner to make shaxi, Ghanaian-owned big🇬🇭 Hear from you soon!”

His message was a direct response to Shatta Wale’s repost of a video urging both government and private stakeholders to back the Shaxi initiative.

In the repost, the ‘Freedom’ composer expressed his appreciation for the growing support: “I like how everyone is supporting Shaxi all of a sudden and calling on the Government of Ghana to support or invest.

“Thank you all for believing in the African dream. Shaxi is not just a ride-hailing service — it’s a movement designed to empower the youth, create jobs, and promote digital innovation within our transport sector. At its core, Shaxi represents a sustainable solution to unemployment, and a bold example of what can happen when creativity meets purpose.”
