Lilwin Says DNA Test Revealed One Child He Raised for 10 Years Is Not His

Ghanaian actor, Lilwin

Ghanaian comic actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as Lilwin, has disclosed that a DNA test recently confirmed that one of the children he had believed to be his for nearly a decade is not biologically related to him.

Lilwin made the revelation during a TikTok Live session, where he recounted the personal experience and how he handled the discovery. According to him, he had even thought about sharing the DNA test results and photos of the child publicly. However, fellow actor Kwame Gee cautioned him against taking that step.

Despite the emotional weight such news might carry, Lilwin said he chose not to react with anger when the test results confirmed his long-held suspicion.

“There is one child among my children whom I have fathered for about 10 years, but the child is not mine. I have many children, but one of them isn’t mine. Recently, when we went to check and I realised the child wasn’t mine, I didn’t get angry or anything,” he shared.

Reflecting on the experience, the actor said situations like this are part of life and should be approached with understanding rather than rage.

He also used the moment to advise other men who may face similar revelations to stay calm and think beyond biology.

“The DNA issue is a true story that happened to me, and I want to tell everyone that if the same thing happens to you, don’t get angry about it because, at the end of the day, in one way or another, we still take care of other people’s children,” he stated.

Lilwin explained that the outcome of the test did not surprise him because he had harboured doubts about the child’s paternity from the start.

“The truth is that from the beginning, I suspected the child wasn’t mine, but I took it normally. I even run a school where I take care of other people’s children and support widows as well. The only issue I have is when a woman knows a child is not for a particular man, that man is taking care of the child, and she still wants to disturb him,” the actor further stated.

His comments have since sparked conversations online about paternity, responsibility, and the emotional complexities surrounding DNA tests.
