“Making This a God Problem Is Part of the Problem” – Okyeame Kwame Reacts to Ebo Noah’s Flood Claims

Veteran Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has pushed back against content creator and social commentator Ebo Noah’s interpretation of the devastating floods that swept through parts of Accra and other areas of Ghana on June 29, 2026.

The musician argued that the disaster should not be viewed as a spiritual event but rather as a consequence of environmental neglect, poor planning, and inadequate infrastructure.

His response followed remarks by Ebo Noah, who claimed the floods had fulfilled warnings he previously received from God. According to Noah, he had attempted to alert Ghanaians and authorities ahead of the disaster but was ignored.

In a Facebook post, Okyeame Kwame challenged the idea of attributing the flooding to divine intervention, urging the country to focus on practical solutions instead of spiritual explanations.

“Are you God’s consultant? Are you to remind God of mercy? Are you going to make this physical phenomenon a spiritual problem? Nature is speaking to us to plan our country better. To keep our gutters clean. To stop causing global warming. To stop pouring rubbish in gutters when it rains. To stop cutting down trees. To stop illegal mining so the forest may stand. To invest in recycling and upcycling. To be more ambitious about source separation and rubbish management,” he wrote.

While expressing sympathy for those affected, the rapper insisted that shifting responsibility to God only distracts from the underlying causes of Ghana’s recurring flooding crisis.

“The negative effects of the rain are very sad, and I cry with all who lost resources, but making this a God problem is part of the problem,” he added.

Okyeame Kwame’s reaction comes after Ebo Noah maintained that he had forewarned the country about the heavy rains and flooding long before the disaster unfolded.

Speaking after the incident, the content creator said he delivered the warning on God’s instruction but was arrested instead of being taken seriously.

“I said it would rain and flood. God instructed me to tell Ghanaians, but I was arrested. Today, look at what is happening. Look at the properties being destroyed. Look at the lives that have been lost. It is very sad,” he said.

Ebo Noah further argued that divine messages should not be dismissed based on the identity of the messenger, insisting that God can choose anyone to deliver a warning.

“People want to hear it from their pastors or prophets before they believe. God can use anybody. I was only a medium. I saw it, I said it, and I was disregarded,” he added.

He described the flooding as a warning for the nation, urging citizens and authorities alike to place greater emphasis on environmental protection and disaster preparedness.

Ebo Noah also warned that more flooding incidents could occur in the coming weeks if people fail to remain alert.

“No more talking. The rain will speak for us. In the coming weeks, a lot is going to happen, so everyone should be on the lookout,” he warned.
