Ghanaian singer Mzbel has opened up about a fallout with Medikal, claiming a rejected collaboration request turned into a public slight.
During a discussion on UTV’s United Showbiz, the singer, known in private life as Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, recounted how her attempt to secure a feature spiraled into what she describes as an unexpected jab in one of Medikal’s songs.
“The last time I recorded a song, I wanted to feature someone, but the person declined. He later went on to release a song in which he insulted me, calling me an ‘old coin.’ It was Medikal.
“I tried reaching out to him directly, but couldn’t, so I contacted him through his wife, yet I still couldn’t get through. Later, during an interview, I mentioned that I had tried to reach him without success. The next moment, he released a song about me, referring to me as an ‘old coin,’” she said.
Despite the experience, Mzbel did not hold back on praising Medikal’s craft, describing him as unmatched in the rap scene.
She pointed to his accessible lyrics and distinct delivery as reasons she rates him highly, even in the face of the alleged insult.
“He is the best because his songs are easy for people to understand. I am disappointed but I am still open to working with him because I understand how the game works.
“His rap style would fit well with my music. Even though I am hurt, my staff still plays his songs at my workplace, and I can’t stop them. That aside, if he ever reaches out for a collaboration, I am always available,” Mzbel stated.

I still stand by my opinion that, Medikal is the best Rapper in the world regardless he turned down my collaboration offer and later dissed me in his song.
