Nana Agradaa Links Her Jail Release to Spiritual Intervention by Opambour

Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has attributed her release from prison to what she describes as divine instruction connected to Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, popularly called Opambour.

Addressing congregants during a visit to Opambour’s church on Sunday, March 22, 2026, she claimed that spiritual guidance while she was incarcerated led her to direct her husband to the prophet for assistance.

“I told my husband that if he wants me to be released from prison, he has to visit Opambour. The Spirit of God revealed to me that without his prayers and favour, I will never come out,” she said.

She maintained that she received what she considered clear spiritual direction linking her freedom to the prophet’s intervention.

“I told him, if you want me out, go to Opambour, the nation’s prophet. If you don’t, then continue whatever you are doing. The Spirit and angels of God told me to send him to that man,” she said.

According to Agradaa, her husband eventually acted on the instruction, a step she believes contributed to her eventual release.

“With his prayers and favour, I came out. So I told my husband to go to him and tell him I sent him.”

Court records indicate that Agradaa was first handed a 15-year jail term on July 3, 2025.

Her legal team later challenged the ruling at the Amasaman High Court, which reduced the sentence to 12 calendar months, describing the initial punishment as excessive.

She was released after serving two-thirds of the revised term, in line with Ghana’s remission policies.
