Ghanaian actress Nikki Samonas has opened up about her relationship status and her outlook on marriage, explaining why she is not in a rush to settle down.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, she confirmed that she is currently single.
Addressing questions about why she is yet to get married, Nikki said her priority is inner peace, stressing that marriage should not be treated as a spiritual benchmark.
“Love is a verb; it is a doing word, an action word. But we don’t base our decision to get married on love alone. If you go on social media, there are a lot of beautiful couples, yet many of them are divorced.
“In the same way, I say giving birth shouldn’t be a yardstick to heaven, marriage isn’t a yardstick to heaven. I want my peace of mind,” she said.
She went on to reflect on dating, describing it as a pleasant experience for her, even though she has never been married.
“I am in a relationship… dating is a very nice thing. I haven’t been married before, so I have no experience with marriage. But if you ask me, I can only speak about dating, and I will say it is a very nice thing.
“If I get married and come back here, then you can ask me the difference between marriage and dating,” Nikki Samonas added.
