“Credit Ghanaians with Some Intelligence and Tell Us the Truth” – MC Yaa Yeboah Slams Government Over Dumsor

Frustration over Ghana’s recurring power outages has drawn a sharp reaction from media personality MC Yaa Yeboah, who is questioning both the government’s handling of the situation and its communication with citizens.

Speaking on United Showbiz on UTV, she argued that the ongoing crisis reflects a pattern of disregard for the public, insisting that Ghanaians deserve clarity rather than vague explanations.

According to her, the narrative surrounding recent developments does not add up, particularly claims linking the outages to a fire incident in Akosombo.

“Was the fire outbreak in Akosombo really the cause of the problem? In some countries, you receive alerts about issues like these, and they even caution you ahead of time. However, this is not the case in Ghana.

“The least our leaders can do is to carry us along and let us know the real problems on the ground. My major issue with this dumsor is that they should credit Ghanaians with some intelligence and tell us the truth,” she said.

Aside from the outages themselves, she pointed to what she sees as a deeper problem in Ghana’s political culture, where major national concerns are often turned into partisan battles instead of being addressed decisively.

“Because of how everything has been politicised in the country, it is affecting the lives of the average Ghanaian. There is always blame-shifting whenever there is a change in government, so we never get a lasting solution to our problems,” MC Yaa Yeboah added.
