Mzbel Opens Up on Weed Use, Says It Helps Her Relax and Reflect

Ghanaian singer Mzbel has shared personal insights into her use of marijuana, saying it plays a role in how she manages relaxation, focus, and her overall state of mind.

In an interview with ZionFelix, she explained that she often takes weed tea during yoga sessions, describing it as something that helps her settle her thoughts and ease tension.

She contrasted her experience with marijuana and alcohol, noting that each produces a very different effect on her behaviour and energy levels. For her, alcohol tends to heighten activity, while weed brings a calmer, more reflective mood.

“I can take it anytime, but I don’t just take it randomly because it depends on what I want to experience, who I’m going to meet, and how I want to behave. So, if you see me calm somewhere, it means I have taken weed, but if you see me hyper somewhere, then it means I have taken alcohol.

“Alcohol can make you hyper, but weed makes you very calm and takes you within yourself. When I take weed tea, it helps me connect with my thoughts. Weed is a very powerful herb, and it’s very good,” she said.

Mzbel also stressed that marijuana should not be approached casually, especially by first-time users, warning that improper use can be mentally intense.

“It can be mentally overwhelming if you take it for the first time, so we guide you and help you calm down. When used properly, it can be beneficial, but if you make it a habit, it slows you down. I only do it when it’s necessary,” the Ghanaian songstress further stated.
