Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of the International God’s Way Church, has once again become a talking point online after making new remarks about his marriage that have sparked widespread discussion.
In a video circulating on social media, the preacher addressed his congregation and revealed that he is preparing to leave his current marital home.
He said the decision follows his recent concerns about the circle of people associated with his wife, gospel musician Florence Obinim, a situation he has previously hinted makes him uneasy. During the service, he also announced that he has acquired a new residence at Trassaco worth $400,000 and intends to relocate on Monday, June 15, 2026.
“I just bought a new house at Trassaco, which cost $400,000, so by Monday, I will move out of my home. I can even swear an oath that divorce has not crossed my mind yet. But I want to stay on my own for some time.
“I know my children and how much they love me. I know they would want to move with me, but I will make sure they stay with their mother,” he said.
Despite the planned move, Bishop Obinim insisted he is not heading toward a breakup, stressing that his intention is simply to spend some time living separately.
He also reflected on public perceptions of his marriage, saying he is often unfairly drawn into controversies surrounding his wife regardless of his involvement or lack of it.
According to him, he is frequently blamed for changes or situations involving Florence, even when he has no connection to them. He argued that this pattern of criticism has followed him since their marriage began.
“Ever since I settled down with Florence, if she loses weight, people say I am responsible. If she gains weight, they still blame me. If she isn’t happy, I’m blamed; if she is happy, I’m also credited.
“Meanwhile, in Ghana, if people are naming good husbands, I believe I will be among the top five,” Bishop Obinim stressed.
