Ghana’s political and agricultural communities are mourning the reported death of former Choggu/Tishigu Member of Parliament and former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Ibrahim Adam.
Adam, an animal scientist and veteran politician, was a prominent figure in Ghana’s agricultural sector and played a significant role in public service during the administration of former President Jerry John Rawlings.
He first rose to prominence in government as Agriculture Secretary before subsequently becoming Minister for Food and Agriculture, where he was involved in the management and development of the country’s agricultural sector.
His political career also took him to Parliament, where he represented the Choggu/Tishigu Constituency from 1997 to 2001.
After his time in Parliament and government, Adam continued to contribute to Ghana’s agricultural and financial sectors. He later served as Board Chairman of the Agricultural Development Bank, one of the country’s key financial institutions supporting agriculture.
