Jemila Naa-Dei Neequaye Wins Best Nurse At Cape Coast Teaching Hospital District
Jemila Naa-Dei Neequaye a nurse working at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital in the Central region has been awarded the best nurse in the district for 2024.
This is not the first Jemila Naa-Dei Neequaye who works at the Intensive Unit at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital is winning an award; in 2018 she was awarded the best nurse in the NICU for the month of February in 2018.
In an interview with Jemila on the award she said, “I received the news with mixed feelings, as it came at a time when I was mourning someone who was dear to me and with whom I would have celebrated this. I was humbled and felt this was a win for my fellow NICU nurses for all the sacrifices they make for our babies and to all other hardworking nurses whose remarkable stories are yet to be told.”
She disclosed that, “I feel more motivated to continue to provide quality and standard nursing care to my clients, advocate for them and contribute to their health, promote their recovery and give them hope in our health service.”
Jemila added, “Alhamdulillah, I thank my husband and my parents for their unwavering support in this success story and say thank you to my teachers and everyone who’s ever believed and challenged me to give out my best. In sha Allah, this is to many more achievements.”
She is a product of University of Ghana, Legon, Cape Coast Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Star Of Suhum Schools and St Rose’s Secondary School at Akwatia in the Eastern Region.
