United Kingdom-based Ghanaian health worker Comfort Ghartey has captured hearts worldwide with her unique approach to patient care at the Royal London Hospital.

In a viral news broadcast by ITV in the UK, Comfort was celebrated for bringing warmth and joy to the hospital, where she works as a ward host. Each morning for the past seven years, she has served breakfast to patients with a song, brightening their day and lifting their spirits.

Explaining her motivation, Comfort shared that she adopted this approach to offer support and encouragement to patients, believing it aids in their recovery.

She sees this as fulfilling her purpose, saying, “My name is Comfort, and I always ask myself why my parents gave me that name. It has a purpose. If I am Comfort, I need to comfort the patients.”

Comfort’s songs have become a form of therapy, making a significant impact on the lives of patients at the Royal London Hospital. Some patients have remarked that without Comfort, the ward would feel like a much duller place.
