Akosua Serwaa, the first wife of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, has returned to Ghana from Germany and opened up about the overwhelming support she received upon her arrival.
Touching down at Kotoka International Airport on January 9, 2026, she was met by a crowd that included sympathisers, media personalities such as Ohemaa Woyeje and Sally Mann, family members of Daddy Lumba, as well as prominent figures like Evangelist Papa Shee and businessman Kennedy Agyapong, popularly known as Kenpong.
In a statement released the following day, January 10, Akosua Serwaa recounted her surprise at the turnout. She shared that after safely landing, her first act was to thank God for protection. “As I made my way through the arrival hall and saw a large gathering ahead, I thought perhaps a national figure was on the flight,” she said. “It was only as I got closer that I realised the crowd had come not for a public official, but for me, their sister, mother, daughter, and the widow of Daddy Lumba.”
She expressed deep gratitude for the support she has received since her husband’s passing, singling out Team Legal Wives. “Their solidarity, prayers, advocacy, and consistent presence gave me strength during a deeply trying period,” she said. “The unity they showed is a stand for truth and justice, and it demonstrates the power of collective support in moments of adversity.”
Akosua Serwaa’s return follows weeks after Daddy Lumba’s funeral at Heroes Park in Kumasi on December 13, 2026. She and some family members had not attended the burial, citing unresolved disagreements over funeral arrangements and widowhood rites.
