NDC Vows Tough Action After Alleged Inducement in Ayawaso East Primaries

National Democratic Congress (NDC)

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has opened investigations into alleged bribery and vote inducement linked to its parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso East Constituency, strongly rebuking the conduct and warning of sanctions against those found responsible.

In a statement released by the party’s National Secretariat on Saturday, February 7, 2026, the NDC disclosed that its leadership received reports suggesting that some aspirants engaged in inducement and vote buying during the internal contest.

“The party vehemently condemns these actions in no uncertain terms as they represent an affront to the values and principles of the party and the reset agenda the party is championing,” the statement said.

Party officials indicated that investigations have already begun, stressing that any individual implicated will be subjected to immediate disciplinary measures.

The NDC also signalled that it is prepared to impose harsher penalties should such practices persist. The party noted that elections could be annulled in situations where credible evidence of inducement emerges.

The statement, signed by the party’s General Secretary, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, reaffirmed the leadership’s resolve to safeguard transparency, fairness, and credibility in the party’s internal electoral processes.
