Reggie Rockstone Reveals Floods Destroyed His Corolla S, Says He’s Now Relying on Ubers

Reggie Rockstone has joined the list of Ghanaians counting the cost of Accra’s devastating floods after revealing that his personal vehicle was destroyed by the heavy rains that swept through the capital.

The veteran Hiplife musician, popularly known as the “Godfather of Hiplife”, said his Corolla S was left beyond repair after being submerged, forcing him to depend on ride-hailing services as he looks for a new transportation arrangement.

In a video shared on Instagram, Reggie explained that the damage to his car had disrupted his usual routine and would require him to spend more on daily movements.

“Right now, I have to be taking Ubers; my personal car, a Corolla S, is dead. The floods killed it,” he said.

Although his household still has access to another vehicle, the musician said he would rather avoid depending on his wife’s car because of personal convenience.

“We only have two cars. I could be riding with my wife, but for my own peace of mind, I’d rather not. So I will have to be investing in a lot of Ubers,” he revealed.

Reggie also disclosed plans to contact Shaxi, the ride-hailing company owned by fellow musician Shatta Wale, hoping his previous association with the brand could lead to some assistance.

“I will reach out to Shaxi because I have advertised for them before, so maybe they will show me some love,” the revered artiste stated.

Beyond dealing with the setback, the Hiplife pioneer said he intends to turn his new experience of using ride-hailing services into content by interacting with Uber drivers and highlighting their everyday stories in Accra.

The flooding crisis that affected Accra and other parts of Ghana followed intense rainfall on June 29, 2026, with about 140 mm of rain recorded during the storm. The downpour ranked among the heaviest single-day rainfall events the capital had experienced in recent years.

The disaster caused widespread destruction, with the national death toll rising to 34 across seven regions as rescue and recovery efforts continued. Authorities warned that the figure could increase as teams searched affected areas.

Accra accounted for more than 45% of the reported deaths, while the floods displaced 89,736 people nationwide. The Greater Accra Region recorded the highest number of affected residents, with 54,712 people impacted.
