A viral video showing a woman attacking a young man in front of bystanders triggers public anger as Ghanaians demand police investigation.

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a woman seen in a viral video violently attacking her boyfriend, following an operation conducted by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.

Authorities say the arrest of Esther Nana Afia Sarfowaa on November 27 took place at Subriso in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency of the Ashanti Region, after the video sparked widespread outrage across social media platforms.

A second individual, Stephen Ofori, was also taken into custody at Nkawie in the Ashanti Region for his alleged role in the incident. Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.

The police added that efforts are ongoing to locate three more individuals believed to be involved in the assault who are currently on the run.

In a Facebook statement, the Ghana Police Service assured the public of its commitment to holding all those responsible accountable.

“The Ghana Police Service assures the public of our commitment to bring perpetrators to justice,” the statement said.
