“I Wanted to Join the Army” – Black Sherif Shares Surprising Ambition

Black Sherif

Ghanaian artiste Black Sherif has opened up about an unexpected ambition that briefly took hold of him, revealing he seriously considered signing up for military service and enduring the same demanding training as any regular recruit.

During a conversation with seasoned broadcaster Kafui Dey, the “Second Sermon” hitmaker shared that the thought surfaced quite recently, catching even him off guard.

“Sometime two weeks ago, I wanted to join the army. I felt like, for some reason, it would bring something out of me. I don’t want any protocol; I want to go through the training and everything,” he said.

He went on to explain that the urge was tied to a deeper personal realisation he had around his 24th birthday. According to him, that moment shifted his perspective on what he could achieve within a single lifetime.

“I had an epiphany during my 24th birthday that I can actually be everything. It’s just one lifetime. So many things came to my mind; I wanted to do everything and still be me,” he said.

The disclosure has left many fans intrigued, especially given the rapid rise of the Kumasi-born artist, whose influence continues to stretch across Ghana and beyond.
