The former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Paul Tawiah Quaye, has died after what is reported to have been a period of illness.

News of his passing has begun circulating through senior security circles, with tributes already emerging for the retired police chief known for his disciplined leadership and efforts to strengthen professionalism within the Ghana Police Service.

Although official confirmation from the family is yet to be fully made public, colleagues and former officers have started acknowledging his death and reflecting on his legacy in law enforcement.

Quaye, who took over as Inspector-General of Police in 2009 under the late President John Evans Atta Mills, spent his tenure pushing reforms aimed at rebuilding public trust in the police service and tightening standards of conduct among officers.
