Mr Eazi Reveals Father’s Sacrifice That Funded His Education in Ghana

Mr Eazi

Nigerian artiste Mr Eazi has revealed the extent of his father’s financial commitment to his education, describing how tuition costs for him and his sister in Ghana pushed well beyond what their household earned at the time.

Speaking in a resurfaced interview that has gained renewed attention online, the 34-year-old singer recalled a defining moment when his father broke down his monthly income and compared it directly with their school fees before sending them off to university.

He explained that his father earned around $10,000 a month during that period, but the education expenses for both siblings still exceeded that figure.

“I remember going to school for the first time, and dad showed me how much salary [he was] paid, and then he showed me my school fees. I was like 15 going on 16. He said ‘your school fees is seven thousand dollars per year, my salary is ten thousand dollars,” he recounted.

For Mr Eazi, born Oluwatosin Ajibade, that conversation became a lasting reference point, shaping how he views sacrifice, responsibility, and the quiet strain behind parental support.

He later relocated to Ghana to study at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a move that eventually set the stage for the beginnings of his music career.
