A fresh online exchange between Kwaw Kese and Shatta Wale has reignited attention on their long-standing tension, after the dancehall star publicly appealed for financial backing to sustain his music career.
Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, had taken to Facebook to express frustration over what he described as the financial demands of his craft, suggesting he may step away from music if no investor comes on board.
“Where I have gotten with my career now I think I need a serious investor on board cuz I can’t do this alone. Otherwise I will have to stop music and concentrate on my other businesses which will be my best decision,” he said.
The post quickly drew reactions, including a pointed response from rapper Kwaw Kese, who dismissed the call for external funding and advised him to look inward for support.
“My son sell one of your cars and invest in yourself. Or come make I give you some acres of land to farm,” he replied.
Kwaw Kese’s comment leaned on Shatta Wale’s widely known lifestyle and ownership of luxury assets, implying that self-financing should not be a challenge for someone at his level in the industry.
