Asamoah Gyan and Castro's daughter

Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan shared an emotional moment while spending time with the daughter of his late friend, Castro, in a reunion that has touched many Ghanaians online.

A video from their meeting shows the former Ghana striker introducing Roslyn, the daughter of the late musician, while reflecting on how much she has grown since he last saw her.

“This is the daughter of Under Fire. She was two years old when I saw her. She’s a big girl now,” Asamoah Gyan said as he struggled to hold back his emotions.

The encounter appeared to bring back memories of his close relationship with Castro, with the former Black Stars skipper admitting that seeing his friend’s daughter again was a deeply emotional experience.

“I don’t want to be emotional, but it is what it is,” Asamoah Gyan said.

The moment has drawn widespread reactions on social media, with many Ghanaians remembering the strong friendship between the football legend and the late rapper, who disappeared in July 2014 during a jet ski trip at Ada.

Although Castro was never officially declared dead, many people have continued to presume that he passed away following his disappearance.

Asamoah Gyan’s reunion with Roslyn has since received praise from fans who highlighted the bond he continues to maintain with Castro’s family and the support he has shown to his friend’s daughter over the years.
