Bishop Daniel Obinim has stated that he has drawn a line under the recent wave of online controversy involving himself, his wife, and related discussions that have been circulating widely on social media in recent weeks.
Speaking in a video shared with his congregation, the pastor explained that the decision to step back from the public exchanges came after what he described as a spiritual prompting he received on Sunday morning.
He recounted that at about 9 a.m., just before leaving for church, he went through his social media pages and removed all videos he had posted relating to the issue. In his view, the action was guided by what he believed was instruction from the Holy Spirit.
“Sunday morning before going to church, I deleted every video from my social media. I haven’t heard anything, all I know is that the Holy Spirit said I shouldn’t continue,” he said.
Bishop Daniel Obinim was firm that the move was not influenced by external pressure or advice from anyone around him. He maintained that the choice was entirely his own interpretation of spiritual direction.
“No one has advised me, no one has said anything to me, I haven’t heard anything,” he claimed.
Addressing claims circulating online that he may have quickly “healed” or moved past the controversy, he pushed back on that narrative, saying it did not reflect his actual state of mind.
He clarified that his silence should not be mistaken for emotional recovery, stressing instead that he was acting strictly on what he believed to be divine instruction.
“Someone would say ‘Papa, you have healed very fast.’ I haven’t healed from anything; I am just following the orders of the Holy Spirit,” Bishop Obinim claimed.
