Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has Asamoah Gyan, a former captain of the Black Stars, on his manifesto committee.
The former captain of Ghana has been assigned to use his knowledge to develop and suggest youth and sports-related strategies.
The members list, which also included additional names assigned to different sectors, was made public on Wednesday night.
This month, Dr. Bawumia, who also serves as Ghana’s vice president, outlined his plan to become the country’s next president.
Asamoah Gyan confirmed his party affiliation by attending the function held at the UPSA auditorium.
This development comes after Gyan previously said he would support reviving sports in the nation.
