The 2024 awards ceremony was held under the theme: “The Role of the Media as a Tool for Promoting Development in the Bono and Ahafo Regions.”
Delivering her remarks, Bono and Ahafo Regional GJA Chairperson, Mrs. Regina Benneh Siaw, applauded journalists for their vital contributions to regional development. She emphasized the media’s responsibility in promoting peace and social cohesion.
“Our role extends beyond reporting; we are architects of public discourse and guardians of democracy. In promoting peace and development, the media’s influence is immense,” she stated.
Mrs. Benneh Siaw called on journalists to uphold professional ethics, cautioning against misinformation and disinformation, which she described as threats to the profession’s credibility.
