KiDi Praises Sarkodie’s Big Heart After Unexpected Rapperholic Invitation

KiDi

Ghanaian singer KiDi has admitted he once feared that rapper Sarkodie held a grudge against him after old tweets in which he criticised the award-winning musician resurfaced online.

In an interview with ZionFelix, KiDi recalled how shocked he was when Sarkodie personally reached out to invite him to perform at the London edition of Rapperholic.

KiDi explained that when Sarkodie contacted him about the event, he never expected the invitation because the old tweets had always lingered in his mind. According to him, he had convinced himself that the rapper probably still had negative feelings about him, even if he never openly showed it.

The singer said he believed Sarkodie may have silently held those comments against him, which made the invitation to the UK concert even more surprising. He noted that Sarkodie told him he wanted him to be part of his first-ever concert in London, a gesture he said caught him completely off guard.

Reflecting on the experience, KiDi said the moment changed his perception of Sarkodie and revealed the rapper’s forgiving nature. He shared that he repeatedly questioned why Sarkodie chose him, especially considering the many close relationships the rapper has within the music industry.

KiDi said the gesture made him appreciate Sarkodie’s maturity and understanding, adding that the rapper likely recognised he was much younger and immature when he made those comments online.

The ‘Lomo Lomo’ hitmaker also recounted another moment during the trip that stayed with him. According to KiDi, Sarkodie later invited him to sit in during an Apple Music interview session, something he viewed as another sign of genuine goodwill.

Despite the reconciliation, KiDi admitted he still feels embarrassed whenever the old tweets are mentioned. He said the situation taught him a valuable lesson about social media and the long-term consequences of online posts.

He added that he wishes more young people understood that comments made online can resurface years later, stressing the importance of being careful with words shared on the internet.

KiDi further praised Sarkodie for overlooking the incident and continuing to embrace him warmly within the industry, saying the rapper’s ability to move past the situation and treat him like a younger brother spoke volumes about his character.
