It Was a Perfect Interview – Counsellor Lutterodt Defends Delay Amid Criticism Over RNAQ Interview

Counsellor Lutterodt

Counsellor George Lutterodt has stepped forward in defence of media figure Deloris Frimpong Manso, widely known as Delay, after she came under public scrutiny over her recent sit-down with businessman Richard Nii-Armah Quaye.

Speaking on Angel FM, the outspoken marriage counsellor dismissed claims questioning Delay’s competence as an interviewer, insisting that her track record in the media space speaks louder than the recent criticism.

He argued that her longevity in the industry is itself proof of resilience and relevance, stressing that nearly 20 years on air reflects both experience and credibility.

“Some people were saying Delay doesn’t know how to ask questions, but that’s okay. She’s always delayed and in her delay, people get orgasm,” he said.

Lutterodt further maintained that Delay’s career has been shaped by consistent challenges, adding that she has managed to remain standing despite repeated industry conflicts and pressure.

“In her 18 years of doing her show, what has she not fought? She’s fought TV stations, radio stations and she’s done a lot in life. She has credible sponsors on her show, a solid team, and she’s able to attract people for interviews,” he stated.

Turning his attention to the backlash surrounding the RNAQ interview, he insisted that Delay, as a seasoned host, has full control over the direction of her questions, and critics are misreading her intent.

“Even if RNAQ went to beg Delay to interview him by payment, Delay is wise. If Delay interviewed RNAQ without taking money, she’s a fool, with no apologies. Because in the heat of the moment, everybody wishes to interview RNAQ,” he shared.

He added that interviewers are not bound to public expectations when shaping conversations, especially when dealing with high-profile guests.

“If Delay was able to get RNAQ and interview him, there are questions she wants to ask, not necessarily what the public expects. Why is she being trolled? Things that are known already, you don’t ask.” he said.

Lutterodt also stressed that RNAQ participated willingly and had full opportunity to respond throughout the exchange.

“If the man you’re asking the questions decides to answer, he should do that. Delay didn’t provide answers to him. All the questions Delay asked were answered,” he noted.

Wrapping up his remarks, he described the interview as well executed and fair, insisting that Delay should be commended rather than criticised for her approach.

“It was a perfect interview and I’m in support of it. If every man would come out of their way to clarify issues when they believe something is untrue, we would have sanity in our judgment in the public court of opinion,” Lutterodt further stated.
