Ibrahim Mahama Supports Xenophobia Victim With GH¢200k and New Business Opportunity

Xenophobia victim Emmanuel Asamoah receives GH¢200k and business support from Ibrahim Mahama after returning from South Africa.

Businessman Ibrahim Mahama has deepened his support for xenophobia victim Emmanuel Asamoah, only days after pledging assistance during discussions with the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

During a meeting at his office attended by Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Mr. Mahama urged Ghanaians living abroad, particularly those struggling in South Africa, to consider returning home to build their future and contribute to Ghana’s development. He said his company remains open to employing returnees based on their skills and experience.

He also encouraged Ghanaians facing difficult conditions overseas to explore opportunities back home, whether through entrepreneurship or vocational training, assuring them of his readiness to support such efforts.

As part of the intervention, Mr. Mahama presented Emmanuel Asamoah with GH¢200,000, allowing him to spend a month with his family before relocating to Accra to begin a new chapter in business.

After years in South Africa where he operated a nails and hairdressing venture, Emmanuel has now chosen to transition into the hardware business.

Mr. Mahama further praised Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa for what he described as his commitment and dedicated service toward the welfare of Ghanaians living in the country.

He also advised Emmanuel Asamoah to stay disciplined, focused and resilient as he starts rebuilding his life and business in Ghana.
