46 Health Workers Test Positive To COVID-19 In Bono Region

Forty-six (46) out of the 96 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Bono Region are health workers.

The Acting Bono Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Kofi Amo Kordieh disclosed this at a press conference in Sunyani.

Dr. Kordieh noted that the health workers who had contracted the disease are symptomatic with four showing mild symptoms and are being treated in treatment centres.

The Wenchi Municipality leads in the number of districts with the highest number of cases with 42 cases.

Three districts namely; Dormaa West, Dormaa East and Tain are yet to record any case.

Dr Kordieh noted that, “Active contact tracing is still ongoing and we are still managing the outbreak through routine and enhanced surveillance.”
