The management of dancehall star Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., has confirmed that the musician is in the custody of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) over issues linked to the tax status of his acquired yellow Lamborghini.
According to a post by Samuel Atuobi Baah, also known as Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale voluntarily appeared before EOCO this afternoon, accompanied by his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to assist with ongoing investigations. Management stressed that the legal team is fully engaged with authorities and working to resolve the matter as swiftly as possible.
“We want to assure all fans and the general public that his legal team is fully engaged and actively working with the authorities to resolve this matter,” the statement read. “They are taking all necessary steps to secure his release at the earliest opportunity.”
The team further appealed to Shatta Movement supporters and the wider public to remain calm and avoid fueling speculation. They expressed confidence in the judicial process and indicated that discussions with EOCO would continue on Thursday when Shatta Wale’s legal representatives return to the agency’s offices.
Management promised to provide further updates as developments unfold.
