Shatta Wale Claims He Can Earn Up to $1 Million Per Show in Ghana

Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale says he can command as much as $1 million for a single performance in Ghana, insisting that his wealth and career growth have been firmly rooted in the country rather than built abroad.

The outspoken dancehall act made the claim during a conversation with Adesope Olajide on the Afrobeats Podcast, aired on June 7, 2026, where he reflected on his journey, branding, and market value.

He described himself as an artist with global ambitions who has deliberately structured his career to reach international-level recognition while staying based in Ghana.

“I’ve always seen myself as an international star, but I feel I just need to work on my stuff. If I tell you I can get paid up to $1 million per show in Ghana, you will ask how,” he said.

Shatta Wale believes Ghana’s music scene holds strong commercial potential for artists who understand how to navigate its culture and industry systems.

“Ghana is a beautiful place where people understand the music culture, but it depends on who you meet and how your programming is to get those results,” he explained.

Challenging the idea that success requires relocation, he stressed that his financial rise happened entirely while living and working in Ghana.

He also pointed to the level of recognition he receives locally, saying it comes from across political and entertainment circles.

“I didn’t get rich anywhere; I got rich in Ghana. The respect I have from political parties, ministers and organisers is crazy for me in Ghana. Anybody that calls me in Ghana gives me the respect they would give to Jay-Z and Beyoncé,” he stated.

According to him, the scale of investment put into his shows demands high production standards and full delivery from his team.

“Anything I need for my shows is done properly. I make so much money in Ghana that I feel so comfortable. I’ve been living that life for the past ten years,” he shared.

While open to international performances, he said he is highly selective because promoters often invest heavily in his brand and expect premium value in return.

“It’s not that I don’t want to move out of Ghana, but when promoters call, I explain to them. When I’m going for shows, we spend so much because the promoters pay so much, so we make sure we also give them their money’s worth,” he added.

He reinforced his stance on his market value, adding that lower offers do not match his expectations.

“I get paid up to $1 million per show in Ghana. The respect I get there is the same respect they give to Jay-Z and Beyoncé; that’s why I don’t chase international shows. If you offer me $300,000, I’ll tell you to keep the money and come back when you have a bigger budget.”
