Ghanaian singer Mzbel has once again stirred conversation about romance and relationships, declaring that she does not subscribe to the idea of love.
Speaking during an interview with ZionFelix, the “16 Years” singer explained that she views attraction, rather than love, as the foundation of any meaningful relationship.
For the veteran musician, the emotions people often describe as love are less important than the connection and feelings two individuals create for each other.
“I go into a relationship because I am attracted to the person, but I don’t believe in love. Love is a scam. I believe attraction is about how you make me feel. So, if I meet you and you make me feel good, I can fall for you.
“If we go on a date and we both want sex, I don’t mind having it with you,” she said.
Mzbel also shared her views on personal freedom in relationships, stressing that she has little tolerance for situations where a partner attempts to dictate who she can associate with.
According to her, the moment a relationship becomes restrictive, she has no problem ending it and moving on without unnecessary conflict.
“But when you start making certain demands, like telling me that because I’m in a relationship, I shouldn’t speak to certain people, I will cancel your name.
“I will tell you that we are no longer together. I can leave a relationship without making it dramatic. Also, when I am in a relationship, no one has to know because if you publicly come out to say you are dating me, I will deny it,” she added.
The outspoken entertainer further indicated that she prefers to keep her romantic affairs away from public attention, maintaining that relationships are private matters that do not require public validation.
