Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has paid tribute to the late Shaykh Ali Ahmed Maikano Kalamu a Tijjaniya Islamic Cleric.
Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia paid his tribute on his Facebook page, I received with shock the news of the death of Shaykh Ali Ahmed Maikano Kalamu this morning. The learned Shayhk was a man of peace who worked for the unity of the Muslim community in Ghana.”
Dr. Bawumia added, “I offer my condolences to the Maikano family and the Jallo fraternity. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and unite him with his father, Shaykh Abdulaihi Maikano and all departed souls.”
The late Shaykh Ali Ahmed Maikano Kalamu was killed by armed robbers on the Abromase road in the East Gonja District of the Savannah region whiles on his way for a programme.
Shaykh Ali Ahmed Maikano is the first son of the late Islamic cleric and leader of the Jallo fraternity, Shaykh Abdulaihi Maikano.
