‘This Is Not a Car’ – Obinim Ridicules Florence’s RAV4 Gift

Bishop Daniel Obinim and his wife Florence Obinim

The public fallout between Bishop Daniel Obinim and his estranged wife, gospel singer Florence Obinim, has intensified, with the controversial preacher launching a blistering response after she publicly celebrated receiving a Toyota RAV4 from Service Machinery Ghana Limited (SMGL).

Reacting in a video circulating online, the founder of the International God’s Way Church belittled the gift, describing the vehicle as old and unworthy of the attention it had received. He also cautioned Florence against making further public comments about their collapsed marriage.

A visibly angry Obinim argued that the RAV4 was nothing compared to the vehicles Florence had access to while they were together, insisting there was no reason for her to make a public spectacle of the donation.

“You’re making noise that someone has gifted you a car. You call this a car? This rickety car. It’s not even brand new. I started using this car 16 years ago when I was still a young pastor.

“And you’re going around pretending as if you’ve never driven a car before. You used to drive better cars than this. Stop this childish attitude. Stop it,” he fumed.

Obinim also warned his estranged wife to refrain from discussing him or their failed marriage during interviews, suggesting he was prepared to reveal his own side of the story if provoked.

“If I start to talk, Ghana will not be able to contain the both of us,” the famous church leader further stated.

His comments follow Florence’s recent appearance on Peace FM, where she told host Ola Michael that the managing director of SMGL decided to gift her the vehicle after hearing about the difficulties she had endured. She expressed appreciation to the company and everyone who played a role in the generous gesture.

Before receiving the vehicle, Florence had openly spoken about the challenges she faced during her marriage. She claimed she never owned a personal car and often depended on Uber services and public transport despite being married to one of Ghana’s popular pastors. She also alleged that the proceeds from her music career were controlled by Obinim.
