Piesie Esther reveals why she does not give attention to social media trolls
Renowned Ghanaian gospel artist Piesie Esther has shared insights into her intentional strategy for steering clear of negativity on social media.
In a recent interview on 3FM Drive, the celebrated singer disclosed her decision to focus on her craft instead of engaging with online trolls, who, she believes, are often incentivized to spread negativity.
“I’ve come to realize that some people posting negative comments are actually paid to do so, just to tarnish others’ reputations,” she remarked. “It makes you wonder why someone would write such things when you’re simply working hard and promoting your talent.
“For me, it’s not worth the mental toll. I don’t let such individuals bother me. I just move on and stay committed to my work,” she added.
On the subject of female gospel musicians embracing fashion more boldly than in the past, Piesie Esther voiced her support for maintaining a polished appearance.
“There’s nothing wrong with gospel musicians, especially women, dressing stylishly. It enhances your appeal and can even help draw people closer to your ministry.
“However, while looking good is important, modesty matters. Revealing too much detracts from your message. How you dress shapes how people view you,” she advised.
In October 2024, Piesie Esther released her latest song, Atɛɛne (Overturned), which she described as a testament to God’s unwavering faithfulness in her life.
Interestingly, she revealed that Atɛɛne was written before her hit single Mo.
“I actually gave the song to Kaywa before releasing Way3 Mi Yie. My initial plan was to follow up Way3 Mi Yie with Atɛɛne. But then God blessed me with Mo, which felt like the perfect song to thank Him for all He had done, especially the success of Way3 Mi Yie. So, I released Mo first as an expression of gratitude, and now Atɛɛne continues that story,” she explained.
