Ghanaian evangelist Patricia Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, is opening up about the stark realities she faced behind bars, describing an experience she says forced her into deep personal and spiritual reflection.
Speaking in a video shared online, the former convict shared details of her daily life in prison, focusing on the discomfort she endured while trying to rest.
She disclosed that her sleeping arrangement was far from what she was accustomed to, explaining that the prison-issued bed made it difficult for her to sleep.
“When I went to prison, I slept on a student mattress. Because the bed was metallic, I had to remove the mattress and place it on the floor before I could sleep,” she said.
Beyond the physical strain, Nana Agradaa said the period of incarceration became a turning point, giving her time to confront her past and reassess her life choices.
She recounted what she described as a spiritual moment during her stay, saying it reshaped her understanding of life and death.
“Imagine someone like me, who has built mansions, sleeping on a student mattress. That was when God spoke to me and showed me that if it were death, that is how I would be laid.
“He made me understand that when I die, I will go alone — not even my mother, husband, or children will go with me. I will face judgment alone. So, if you wake up each day, it should remind you that God has given you another chance to repent,” Nana Agradaa added.
