Dr. Likee has confirmed that he sold his personal car to bankroll his comedy show at Indigo at The O2 in the United Kingdom, a move he says was deliberate and necessary for the project’s success.
Speaking to ZionFelix shortly after the performance, the Ghanaian comic actor responded indirectly to comments from Lilwin, who had suggested he was originally meant to be part of the show because of its connection to a “big man” they both know, but was later dropped due to internal issues.
Dr. Likee clarified that the production required personal commitment, explaining that he chose to sacrifice his vehicle to make the event possible. “When I return to Ghana, I won’t even have a car to sit in,” he stated.
Beyond the car sale, he also used the moment to appeal for public assistance after reporting that his wallet went missing while in the UK.
According to him, the wallet contained more than £3,000, along with US dollars and Ghana cedis, plus essential personal items such as bank cards and a SIM card.
Even with the setbacks, Dr. Likee maintained that his actions were intentional and rooted in a larger goal of motivating young creatives in the entertainment industry.
He explained that the decision was meant to show upcoming talents that success in showbiz demands belief, discipline, and sacrifice, adding that he hopes his experience will push others to see the industry as one worth investing in despite the risks involved.
