Charlyn Fosuh Explains Her Exit from Father’s Estate Battle: “I Can’t Represent My Siblings”

Charlyn Fosuh - Daddy Lumba and Akosua Serwaa

Charlyn Fosuh, daughter of the late Ghanaian musician Daddy Lumba, has explained why she stepped back from her mother’s application for letters of administration over her father’s estate.

On January 26, 2026, Charlyn formally petitioned the Kumasi High Court to have her name removed from the ongoing case.

In an audio played during a TikTok live session, she addressed circulating rumours suggesting that she had taken legal action against her mother, Akosua Serwaa, or their lawyer, William Kusi.

Charlyn dismissed these claims as untrue, emphasizing that her only aim was to withdraw her name from the proceedings. She stressed that she had not filed a lawsuit against anyone involved in the matter.

She explained that her decision was guided by personal commitments and the demands of the legal process, which she said could limit her ability to represent her siblings in the estate proceedings.

“We went to court to take my name out of the letters of administration, and I want everyone to know I didn’t sue my mum or Lawyer William Kusi. The reason why I went to do that was I am entering a phase of my life, where I’m graduating law school soon and wouldn’t have the time to represent my siblings in the letters of administration. That’s why I have decided to take my name out,” Charlyn said.

This move comes after reports on January 13, 2026, that Akosua Serwaa had filed for letters of administration to assume control over her late husband’s estate. The application, submitted by Lawyer William Kusi of Dominion Chambers, initially listed Akosua Serwaa, Charlyn Fosu, and Daddy Lumba’s sister, Ernestina Fosu, as the applicants.
