Agya Koo Dismisses Kennedy Agyapong Link to New Party, Leaves Door Open

Agya Koo has dismissed claims that Kennedy Agyapong is backing his newly formed political outfit, The Base Movement.

The Kumawood actor, now venturing into politics, addressed the rumours shortly after arriving in Accra to formally register the party. His visit included a stop at Circle, where he and his team engaged the public and rallied support for the new movement.

Speaking in an interview with Sir Kay on Sompa FM in Kumasi, Agya Koo made it clear there is currently no connection between his group and the former NPP presidential hopeful.

“Kennedy Agyapong has not even thought about supporting us in any way. Remember, he made it clear in his concession speech that he remains with the NPP and has given no signal to us, the BASE leaders, of any plan to take charge,” he said.

Even so, he signaled that the movement would not shut its doors on the outspoken politician should he have a change of heart.

“NPP is our base. If Ken decides to join, he is welcome,” he added.

Agya Koo also hinted at growing momentum behind the initiative, noting that several professionals, including lawyers and business figures, have already thrown their weight behind the project as recruitment and outreach continue.
