Ghanaian musician Captain Planet has doubled down on his position after his comments on politics and national development set off a storm online.
The controversy began on X, where he called for a break from entrenched party loyalties, arguing that constant political back-and-forth is holding the country back. In the same post, he voiced his support for President John Dramani Mahama, saying attention should be placed on tangible progress rather than partisan identity.
He wrote: “Ghana it’s time to stop politicization. This man is really trying to move this country forward thats my opinion. 🤷🏼♂️
We go do NPP NDC , NDC NPP saa then nothing go happen.
Only a witch who doesn’t like good things to happen to this country.”
The post quickly triggered criticism, with some social media users challenging both his viewpoint and intentions. Captain Planet, however, responded sharply, refusing to retreat from his stance.
He fired back: “See some nkwasiafo oo. When me , daddy lumba, A plus, kwabena kwabena , kofi B , okraku mante, kofi nti, kk fosu etc and Nana Addo were eating kenkey in one asanka then where were you bunch of fools? Social media Gangsters. Ndwaen that time u didn’t say i be NDC?”
His response comes amid growing public discontent over recent power outages, an issue that has fueled heated political debate and intensified exchanges across social media platforms.
